INT/EXT. Antagonist introduction – Day

I'm Kaarthic. Friends call me Kaka.

My journey towards sound began during under graduation.  

With dreams of becoming a sound designer, I arrived in Mumbai in July 2011 with 2 suitcases armed with a degree in Visual Communication, a few internships at well known sound stages, a ProTools user certification, a mac book pro, and an acceptance letter at Whistling Woods International in the department of Sound recording and Design - as a student, of-course. I graduated in 2013 and my film school became my alma mater.

Little did I know, one needs to un-learn quite a bit before grasping and getting used to the demands of the film industry. It wasn't a simulation anymore. It was as real as it gets. A real time amalgamation of Spirit, Body and Mind.

After Graduation, I started my career as an Assistant Mixing Engineer and climbed up the ladder to mix one of my own projects after 8 films. I realised I always wanted to become a Sound Designer. Hence after my one year's stint at Audeus, I quit and went to be a Sound Editor & a production Sound Mixer (Sync Sound). A logical step for anyone with aspirations to be a Sound Designer.

I've gained the experience in the field of sound for over 50 films/web-shows in the past 7 years of working in the film industry.         

Recently I've started a collective for ideas by the name of k/sound.design. I record sound effects and libraries as part of the k/sound.design project. k/sound.design deals with experimental microphones, microphone placement techniques, design specific to audio technologies,  bespoke sound design and production sound mixing apart from sound libraries - as a collective.

Apart from sound, I write poetry, I game, I try and compose music and I dearly love photography.

As a tech-nerd, it's good to assume I have GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome). I collect analogue Synths and hardware as a hobby.

You will find a coffee aficionado in me. 

I have a thing for bourbon and rye. Beer is fine sometimes.

I love to cook!

I love to collaborate and i love discussing ideas. Especially films.

It's safe to assume if any thing makes sound, records sounds or helps in making or recording sounds, I'm interested.

I tend to like anything old-school and vintage.

Cars are my passion.

His knack for infusing visuals with life through sound is a testament to his dedication to the art of storytelling.
